PRESS RELEASE

We are glad to invite professional and amateur choreographers and performers to the  World Congress CID – UNESCO on Dance Research to be held in Saint-Petersburg, Russia, 25-29 April  2018.

The Congress is organized by Saint – Petersburg Section of CID at UNESCO (CID at UNESCO – International Dance Council, UNESCO, Paris) with the assistance of The Herzen State Pedagogical University of Russia.

The program includes:

  • research-to-practice conference « Preservation of cultural heritage – dialogue of epochs in arts of music and dance»,
  • work of sections of a conference,
  • section dedication to Marius Petipa (200th anniversary of the birth)
  • workshops,
  • video presentations,
  • performances
  • Gala Concert «International Dance Day»

The main goal of the Congressachievement of solidarity in the world of dance – active dialog and creation of the new forms of cooperation in order to unite world dance culture representatives.

Congress aims: present an opportunity to choreographers and specialists in dance and music therapy to demonstrate their skill level, share studies and techniques with each other, extend up-to-date educational practices and exchange scientific information in pedagogy, dance psychology and art-therapy.

The Congress is organized in the framework of UN and UNESCO principles. 

All presented materials will be published; on-line version will be presented on CID at UNESCO official website.

Among the participants are fine art and culture experts, ballet masters, choreographers and répétiteurs; art, dance and music therapy specialists, dance films producers, performers of all varieties, styles and forms of dance. There also will be a students section within the Congress, opened for students of the Art Institutes.

Awarding with commemorative CID medals for international activities in culture and arts will take place during the official ceremonies of the Congress.

Special cultural program for Congress participants includes visiting the Mariinsky theatre, the Hermitage Museum, dance therapy centers and exemplary dance studios of Saint-Petersburg.
